Interview with Rap Artist Young Nicky on 'Set It Off' & More

MuzicNotez: What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?

Young Nicky: I use to watch my Uncle Jeff played the piano downstairs at my grandma’s house in Seattle! Also he had music on kube 93.3 & got gold plaques! My mom & my sister use to find notebooks of my written raps in my room & they always told my uncle “You’re nephew got talent”. I also heard 2pac’s “I get around” & it was history ever since!

MuzicNotez: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?

Young Nicky: Nipsey was the Tupac of this generation! When Tupac said I might not be the one to change the world but I will spark the brain that will change the world. He was talking about “Nipsey”. Plus Nipsey did every thing on his own & being indie in this game works better in you’re favor!

MuzicNotez: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?

Young Nicky: Obviously it is to make money but music do open other doors! I want to take the money I make off music & opening up multiple businesses so when I get old I can just lay back without worrying if my family straight or not! If that makes sense?

MuzicNotez: What’s the latest release of yours? Tell us about it.

Young Nicky: Visual to “Set It Off” off my Ep Versatile which is a love song between me and a special someone! The video is almost at 4k views on my YouTube page & the song is at 10k streams on Spotify! There is more coming this so just stay in tuned!
