Country music is one of the hottest genres in music today in 2024. Here, we’re going to talk about the top country artists today in independent music and beyond. As always, it’s incredibly hard to narrow down that list of artists to fit here. Always leaving some very talented and hot artists off the list. But the list we came up with, are artists that each bring something unique to the country music scene. They have all been grinding hard, are incredibly talented, and been releasing the best country music we’ve heard.
What is independent music?
Being independent artists, we’re focusing on artists that are emerging and beginning to blow up now, but are still independent of a major label. Some of them, may decide to stay that way, regardless of how large their fan base gets. It’s becoming more and more popular to stay independent these days, we constantly harp on those benefits here though. But in a nut shell, it’s because the artists have more freedom and these days you don’t really need a major label to succeed anyways. As these artists brilliantly prove. Independent labels have been blowing up just as much as these artists.

He’s a native of Trinidad & Tobago, but grew up in Houston, Texas. Rodell Duff is a rising country artist, his music blends traditional country roots with modern influences, creating his own authentic and fresh sound. His rich country voice combines with his strong storytelling songwriting to create songs that really resonate with his growing fan base. He’s also a truly independent country artist, releasing his own music. Duff’s latest release is ‘Someday’, which shows his range covering the popular Nickelback rock track. Indie Country Artist Peytan Porter out of Georgia

Every song he releases seems to transport you back in time. People are really hungry for this traditional country sound too, because he’s absolutely blowing up! Zach’s latest release is ‘Beer For Breakfast’ (how country is that?), which has over 4 million streams on Spotify already. But the song you will know him for, is ‘Sounds Like The Radio’, which has a whopping 21+ million streams on Spotify now! You can hear this on his latest album ‘Cold Beer and Country Music’.

This seems to be a partnership that’s working well for everybody involved! Zach Top’s voice is pure country gold and his songwriting is authentically country. You may recognize Tiera Kennedy from Beyonce’s country album ‘Cowboy Carter’ when she contributed to the song ‘Blackbird’. Her latest release is her debut album ‘Rooted’, which just dropped October 18th. The album is awesome, and already finding a lot of success now, after just a week. This may be her debut album, but she’s been at it for a while now and is making a real impact on the country music scene. She has received countless awards too, and is being recognized for her talent and songwriting. Tiera Kennedy a rising country star that’s changing the genre itself.
Family Focused Country Music Artist Brandon Davis from Texas
When you look at Brandon Davis social pages, it’s clear to see he puts his family first. As you’ll meet them all over his pages. This family centric brand of country is authentic and at the root of the genre itself. People are really loving it too, because he’s built up a loyal fan base and is next up to be a huge star. Brandon has millions of streams on Spotify, and millions of followers on his socials too. Kutter’s great granddaddy was a bootlegger in Kentucky, where she’s from. Now, like most rising country stars, she’s in Nashville. Beyond being a great country singer and performer, Mary is an incredible songwriter. She’s written hits for a lot of country artists, including Bailey Zimmerman’s #1 hit ‘Never Leave’. Mary Kutter has millions of streams on her own music too. Including for her hit ‘Devil’s Money’ from her EP with the same name.
