Ludlow Creek Band Interviews

MuzicNotez: What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?

  • Ludlow Creek: I can’t speak to the others in the band, but I started playing drums at the age of 8, after seeing Ringo and The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show.. I basically beat on everything I could get my hands on until my parents couldn’t take it anymore, and got me a toy drum set. As you can imagine, it wasn’t long before a real kit was needed.

MuzicNotez: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?

  • Ludlow Creek: Well, of course The Beatles, but I also went through a heavy rock phase, with Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin….who doesn’t love John Bonham.? Then I went through a southern rock phase with The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker, and the Eagles. I think Don Henley helped me see that it was OK that the drummer could sing lead. I also went through a fusion jazz period, so I had a pretty varied background when I realized I could write music. I took a loan for a Tascam 4 track open reel recorder and mixer when I was 18. I’ve been writing and recording ever since!

MuzicNotez: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?

  • Ludlow Creek: Ultimately, I would like to make a difference in people’s lives through music, and leave some kind of a legacy behind when I’m no longer here. I learned long ago that there are lots of definitions of success, and while I have no aspirations of being a star, I do have aspirations of getting our music out through the noise so it can be heard. When I take a look at our streaming stats, the response we see in our live shows, and the awards we have been blessed enough to receive, I feel pretty darn successful now. And I think I can speak for the band on that.. The message we’d like to send: live, love, laugh, and make the world a better place.

MuzicNotez: What’s the latest release of yours? Tell us about it.

  • Ludlow Creek: While we wrap up recording on our 3rd album, we have an upcoming single release titled “Last Call.” Written with our friend and cohort Ray Monell, it’s a melodic blend of classic rock, roots and country, with powerful lyrics that explore themes of faith, love, and human relationships. Originally released on our 2nd album “Which Way is Forward”, the song is also being released as a single on July 14th.
