Previously, we interviewed Mark Gray where we talked about his new music, and his inspirational daughter, Amelia. Today, we’re reviewing Christian artist Mark Gray of Tender Grace new album ‘Odyssey’ more in depth. After the loss of his daughter, Amelia, in 2012 due to cancer, Mark has been inspired to create music in her memory. I can’t think of a more beautiful way to keep somebody’s spirit alive than through music and God. That’s exactly what Mark Gray has been doing with Tender Grace.

The new album by Tender Grace, Odyssey, features 7 tracks. Including a couple remixes of previous songs. One of those, is ‘Tears of Faith’, which was a message from Amelia to her mother. One of his most touching songs, and the remix is beautiful. Mark writes, performs and produces his music. However, he wants all of the glory to go to God and his daughter Amelia Josefina Gray. Mark Gray has always been artistic, however, it’s his daughter that has inspired him to be the musician he is today, and she’s working from above to be an instrument of inspiration for him today.
Odyssey starts off with ‘Far Side of Heaven’, a track pointing to God’s love and our loved ones watching over us. The second track on Odyssey is ‘Whiskey River’, this is an emotional track that really paints a picture. A lot of us going through tough times, fall in to addiction to numb the pain, and turn to the bottle. This track is a good reminder to turn to Jesus to heal you instead. The album ends with ‘Just Don’t Love You Anymore’. A beautiful and touching duet sung over acoustic guitar strumming. The track highlights the difficulty losing a child would have on the parents, and their marriage. But, turning to Jesus can help them through anything.
“She always had a smile on her face, I can still feel her presence daily, pushing me forward to help heal others.”, says Mark. That kind of guiding presence to create music, which touches others that are in a similar situation that he had to face, is really special. It has lead him to produce 58 songs at this point. Each of which, I’m sure have gone on to touch people and make a difference. Listen to Odyssey below, and please share, music has a power to help people.
