Punk rock has always been known to ruffle some feathers and get in to politics. The latest example of that is Radio Rubbish punk political anthem ‘Maga Maga!’. This is an anti-Trump political protest song, that is hoping to be a battle cry ahead of the big American presidential election coming up here. Music has always been a great tool to speak up about social issues, especially politics. The genre that has gone up against the establishment the most is punk rock. Although it’s worth noting, Trump is fairly anti-establishment himself, with his mission to “Drain The Swamp” and go against the political grain on a lot of issues, just to play devil’s advocate here. In fact, that’s why he’s dodging bullets.
Radio Rubbish is a UK punk rock duo comprised of Sir Sidney Squacko and Lord Jonny Macko out of Essex. They also have a rebel rock radio show called ‘Punk Rock Pirate Radio’ on HMS Radio Rubbish. Along with this political track, if you use the hash tag #MAGAMAGA!! on social promo’s, you can win a prize! Fittingly, that prize is an American style burger, and a mention in their upcoming album set to drop on Christmas 2024.
The new Radio Rubbish single ‘Maga Maga!!’ is a fairly short anthem, at just under 2 minutes, but it’s hard hitting and straight to the point. The main tag line is “Maga Maga, The guy’s gone Gaga”. If you agree with that, then this song is for you. We’re all for music that has a message here and free speech, either way ya feel politically, the song is quite catchy.
