Interview with Country Artist Shugga Music 2.0 on his new music & more
MuzicNotez: Thanks for taking the time to do this interview with us! What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?
Shugga Music 2.0: Music has always been my passion since I was a little kid “Chasin’ that Neon Rainbow” as they say. After my father passed away in December of 2013, it was my outlet for grieving; even co-wrote a song dedicated to him which ended up being a #1 song on independent radio in Calgary,Canada. As well as an award-nominated song via The Josie Music Awards. The Who’s Hoo nominated for song of the year as well. The song is called “Proud of Me” written by “Shugga” Shane Jones & Dylan Johnson.
Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?
Shugga Music 2.0: Well 80s/90s country, blended with today’s country is my style. From Lainey Wilson mixed with Reba, Travis Tritt mixed with Brantley Gilbert and so many other including Alan Jackson,Lonestar and Keith Whitley just to name a few.

What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?
Shugga Music 2.0: To bring my unique style to my fans, show them my music is relatable. Let them know we’re all in this together, music to fans & fans to music. “Country Music That Hits Home”.
What’s the latest release of yours? Tell us about it.
Shugga Music 2.0: Our latest release is “This Life That I Know” is a country blues song with an uplifting influence of Randy Travis/Ray Charles and Charley Pride. Can’t beat that type of mixture. Written with a conversation inspiration from fellow artist Chris Britles.
My birthday EP “My Journey/My Story/My Music” release on December 5th, is my autobiography of my music. You’ll get to know more about me and what I stand for, showing fans more of vulnerable side through my music.
