Interview with Sobak Artist Interviews

MuzicNotez: What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?

  • Sobak: I was raised in a VERY musical family. My Mom’s Mother played the piano and wrote many beautiful original songs. My Father’s Mom had a beautiful voice and sang in the church choir. My Father played the clarinet and wrote original songs. My Mother played the piano and wrote song lyrics. My Brother played Guitar and sang. My sister played the piano. I also have a great uncle Denny that was an amazing pianist. Music is simply in my blood and my family’s bloodline.

I actually took piano lessons when I was very young and also played the recorder. I honestly took more to sports than music when I was younger. I really started playing music seriously when I was a teenager.

MuzicNotez: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?

  • Sobak: Bon Jovi, Slaughter, Goo Goo Dolls, and mainly 80’s & 90’s Rock. I have also been influenced by many other Artists outside of the Rock Genre. I love music that touches the soul and pulls on your heartstrings. A good song is a good song regardless of the Genre.
But by far Bon Jovi has been my biggest musical influence.

MuzicNotez: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?

  • Sobak: I have opened for a few famous artists over the years. I want to be a nationally and internationally know artist that tours the country. I want to make money with my music as well. I’m very open to many avenues on making money with my music. I want Sobak to be known for not only bringing Rock Music back but Changing Rock Music and the way we’ve been trained to think about it.

Secondly I would like to solve the Homeless Problem here is the USA and then worldwide. I want to be successful enough as an Artist to achieve this goal!

MuzicNotez: What’s the latest release of yours? Tell us about it.

  • Sobak: Spirit Rocker Sobak has released Like Heaven’s Wings from his album “A Little More Time” and to celebrate this beautiful song Anthony Sobak will tell us about this single “Like Heaven’s Wings” Here is the history about the song.

This song was inspired by a woman at first glance that just took my breath away. She had walked into my work/corporate office and I was smittened to say the least. To make the story short I was able to leave her a note on her car windshield. We eventually began to talk back and forth staying up till all hours in the night talking on the phone. I very shortly asked her to meet my sister in Lake Tahoe and we took a mini road trip. This woman’s name is Donna and she has inspired me drastically over the years and I have written multiple love songs about her. I once asked Donna to marry me but she declined and she has now decided to call it quits on our long on and off again relationship. I have no hard feelings, no regrets and wish her well. I have a lot of fond memories with her. Without her I would only have a small portion of original music. Nothing lasts forever even life.
Looking back in retrospect I think that I was probably more invested in the relationship obviously and maybe I even imagined something that really wasn’t there. Birthed was a Beautiful Song-Like Heaven’s Wings.

Sobak is a TRUE Spirit Rock writer. Sobak writers from the DEPTHS of his Soul. Sobak Loves deep and unconditionally. Sobak is here to change the typical Rock and Roll sound and stereotype. Love, Loss, and Dreams are his inspiration topics to write about. If you like heartfelt truthful love songs written with a passion then you’ll LOVE Sobak.
