Rocking Album Available Now!

With influences ranging from 1960s pop to 21st century rock via classic punk, Derecho are a Cambridge-based four piece who are looking to build on early successes in 2014.
With a name that translates from Spanish as a ‘fast moving band of severe thunderstorms’, it comes as little surprise to learn that their sound is an impactful blend of rock genres that has seen them earn local and national chart success on Reverb Nation. Having regularly hit number 1 in the local charts on the site, as well as making a mark in the top 100 nationally, Derecho are looking to expand on that success heading into the New Year.
As well as online success, the band have earned plaudits with their live show, including main stage slots at The Willow Festival in Peterborough and gigs at the 100 Club in London. Their female fronted dynamic sees primary songwriter Jo Ash take centre stage, lending her poetry and words to the band’s powerful rock conversions.
Behind her, drummer Mike Ellis is a professional drummer and drum tech who has worked with several recognisable names over the years such as Mitch Mitchell (Jimi Hendrix), Ash Soan (Adele, Billy Idol). The album line-up is completed with the melodic guitar of Mike Wheatley and the intricate bass lines of Marc Zyngier, all coming together to create a versatile set of track.
