Interview with Pop Artist McKenna Camille on New Single ‘Waiting’
MuzicNotez: First off, it’s an honor to be doing this interview with you, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us.
What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?
McKenna Camille: The second I saw Hannah Montana, I knew I wanted to be a musician! I believe that was around 6 years old, and obviously it’s stuck.
Your latest release is ‘Waiting’, which just dropped July 1st! What does this single mean to you? What inspired it?
McKenna Camille: “Waiting” is about literally waiting for someone who is waiting for someone else, whether that be an ex or maybe the “perfect girl”.
Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?
McKenna Camille: Hannah Montana obviously, Elton John, Bee Gees, Frankie Valli
What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?
McKenna Camille: Simply, I want to make music. I want to perform and just find success while having a great time making music.
What’s the greatest concert you’ve ever been to or performed?
McKenna Camille: I performed at Paris fashion week in 2023 which was really awesome!
As an independent pop artist, what do you think sets you apart from other artists? What do you want to be known for?
McKenna Camille: I always say I write happy music for sad people so I think that’s my answer.
What else are you working on? What can we expect to see and hear from you in the future?
McKenna Camille: Lots of new music! I’ve really tapped into my sound in the next few releases which is super exciting.
