MuzicNotez Crew: First off, it’s an honor to be doing this interview with you, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us.
Introduce yourselves, what are your names and rolls in the band?
Sono Vero: Hey this is Charlie and Dan from Sono Vero, Charlie: I Sing. Dan: I rap.
MuzicNotez Crew: How did you meet and form up? How long have you been together?
Sono Vero: Me and Dan started collaborating about 3 years ago, and pretty much haven’t stopped since. We just really click when it comes to our taste, and what we value out of music.
MuzicNotez Crew: How did you come up with the name Sono Vero?
Sono Vero: It means “I am real” in Italian, the name represents our music in regards to its authenticity. We never try to be anyone else but ourselves and feel like it fit us perfectly.
MuzicNotez Crew: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the band you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?
Sono Vero: Sublime, Nirvana, Bruno Mars, Bob Marley, The Dirty Heads, Kanye West, Disclosure are some of the names that come to mind, but we truly love all music and find something that we can respect from almost any artist.
MuzicNotez Crew: What’s the greatest concert you’ve ever been to or performed?
Sono Vero: It would have to be Wiz Khalifa and Iration’s 4/20 show we went to last year for very obvious reasons.
MuzicNotez Crew: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?
Sono Vero: Our goal is to share the music that we love to make. We believe music is a universal language, and would love for as many people as possible to hear our individual way of conveying that message. The message being to stay true to yourself, and remain real above everything else. The world has enough challenges as it is, and we believe your identity as a person should not be one of those challenges.
MuzicNotez Crew: In 2014 you won ‘Best Reggae Artist’ in the Artist In Music Awards. How does it feel to have your music validated that way?
Sono Vero: When something is your passion sometimes you forget that it could even be looked at as a competition, However getting that validation from our fans and from the judges of AIMA was a reminder our hard work and dedication is “paying off.”
MuzicNotez Crew: Your latest EP release is ‘Roses For The Reckless’. How did this album evolve from your extremely successful (Top 10 on iTunes!) debut EP?
Sono Vero: We were able to do a lot more soul searching with this new Roses for the Reckless EP, which allowed us to broaden our horizons as songwriters. We were also so blessed to be able to work with the very talented producer Lewis Richards who contributed greatly to this new sound.
MuzicNotez Crew: You say your music is real and inspired by life. With that being said, can you explain what your hit single ‘Never Say Goodbye’ is inspired by?
Sono Vero: Never Say Goodbye is about all those little moments that you take for granted, but when it’s time to say goodnight you cant help but replay them in your head. Its an anthem for young love and hopeful heartbreak. It’s written for anyone whose had a night with a significant other and never want to say goodbye.
MuzicNotez Crew: What else are you working on? What can we expect to see and hear from you in the future?
Sono Vero: We are in the process of filming our first music video, and are very curious to see how our fans will react to it.
MuzicNotez Crew: Anything else you wish to say about yourself or your music? Any message for your fans?
Sono Vero: Check us out at www.sonoveromusic.com, Facebook, and on Twiiter and Instagram @sonoveromusic. Really appreciate the interview, blessed to have had this opportunity.
