Brought to you by Michael Stover at the MTS Management Group Genre: Americana/Alternative Country
MuzicNotez: First off, it’s an honor to be doing this interview with you Jiggley, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us.
What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?
Jiggley Jones: I started in my late teens on the bass guitar and really didn’t start writing for a handful of years after that. I think the inspiration came from the way that the music of others moved me. The creative side of the human spirit comes forth if you find a way to present it.
MuzicNotez: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?
Jiggley Jones: I went through so many different musical changes growing up and I think that I’ve actually come back to my roots with this project. I would say that Neil Young, The Eagles, The Allman Brothers, James Taylor and even Led Zeppelin, to mention a few, molded me through my younger years.
MuzicNotez: What’s the greatest concert you’ve ever been to or performed?
Jiggley Jones: Wow, there are so many to pick from since I’ve gone to a countless number of concerts in my day. To be honest there isn’t really one in particular that stands out as the best.
MuzicNotez: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?
I would love to just be respected in the industry as a songwriter that has made a mark that can’t really be duplicated by anyone else. Obviously being able to do this for a living would make this a “complete” venture.
MuzicNotez: You’ve recently released your debut EP “No Spring Chicken”, where did the motivation come from for this EP?
Jiggley Jones: Songwriting motivation always comes from life itself for me. One song was inspired by the birth of my son for example. Songs portray emotion and I try to bring out some emotions that people in general might run across as they live their life.
MuzicNotez: The title of your EP can be contradictory to it being your “debut”. How would you explain that?
Jiggley Jones: Lol. The fact that I’m not as young as I used to be, but still have plenty to say sort of sums up the title. More and more the music world seems to lean towards the younger artist to do the talkin’ but I’m trying to let you know that I’m still here.
MuzicNotez: What would you say is your biggest strength as a musician?
Jiggley Jones: Recognizing that my songs will be listened to by all types of people and that you need to, as a songwriter make it so the listener will grasp it in some way. The trick is to do it by being yourself and giving them something a slight bit different then the next artist.
MuzicNotez: You cross a few different genres, any genre you haven’t worked in but would be interested in?
Jiggley Jones: Throughout my younger years I was more of a Rock artist. Now I lean towards the Country side. Because of that my music naturally fuses both together. I’m not sure if I have any other type of music in my blood that I would do justice to if I attempted to work with it.
MuzicNotez: This is just the beginning for your music career, so what lies ahead for you? What can we expect?
Jiggley Jones: I would love to have the opportunity to continue recording and promoting new material. As long as I am given that opportunity, I will push forward.
MuzicNotez: Anything else you wish to say about yourself or your music? Any message for your fans?
Jiggley Jones: Sometimes music needs a chance to sink in, especially if the sound that you’re hearing is something new to your ear. Do yourself a favor and give new music that you find interesting a few listens before you make a final decision about it. You might be surprised how it grows on you. Thanks for your time!!
