MuzicNotez: First off, it’s an honor to be doing this interview with you, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us.
What motivated you to start creating music? What age did you begin?
Melvin Fromm: In 2000 at age of 34 I was writing my then girlfriend (now wife) in an email how I felt about her and thought wow this sounds like a song so I sat down and wrote my first song called “What I Feel” that has been picked up by the number #1 background environmental music company in Asia as I have 229 songs picked up by this company to date. My girlfriend seem to really like the song and we been married for 16 years so I guess the song really worked well.
MuzicNotez: Who were your musical influences, idols, or bands growing up that have helped mold you into the musician you are today? Or helped mold the music that you create?
Melvin Fromm: I grew up listening to pop, top 40 and country but the funny thing is I never thought I would be into music or had this talent in me until I met my wife and wrote my first song. I am what you call a late bloomer when it comes to getting into music as I was in my mid 30’s before I took a crack at making music for the first time.
MuzicNotez: What’s the ultimate goal you want your music to achieve, or for you to achieve in your career as a musician? Any particular message you wish to send?
Melvin Fromm: Well my main goal for my music is to be backgorund music everywhere in the world from malls to all kinds of retail spaces as that is starting to happen with 229 of my songs picked up by the #1 background environmental music in Asia and worldwide. I also would like to see my music in all kinds of film and tv work.
MuzicNotez: What’s the greatest concert you’ve ever been to or performed?
Melvin Fromm: Well for me the greatest concert I have ever been at is Joel Osteen Ministries Night Of Hope. It’s like a rock concert that praises the Lord with funny stories and fills you up with hope and we all need hope these days to look at the good things in life and not always the bad things.
MuzicNotez: What’s your writing style like?
Melvin Fromm: Well in mid 2015 I started to write and produce my own instrumental music as I make styles from pop, jazz, latin, country, blues and work with studio musicians to help bring all my music alive as I over see everthing. I have a lot of ideas about the kind of music I want to make and in the studio almost everyday.
MuzicNotez: How has your faith inspired your music?
Melvin Fromm: Yes my faith has been a real huge part of my music because God helped me fine my wife and in turn helped me find a talent in me I never knew I had in me really come out in me. With God’s help besides making music God has really open doors for me as I keep moving forward in all I do. No matter what happens in my music I know with out God’s grace and favor this would never be and it really helps me be grounded and thankful for all things in my life.
MuzicNotez: Your latest track is ‘Snow Flurries Colorful Dreams’, what was the inspiration behind this track?
Melvin Fromm: Well it’s winter soon and a favorite time of year for kids and many people so I came up with this song to fit this time of year as I get inspired in a lot of ways to put songs together.
MuzicNotez: What else are you working on? What can we expect to see and hear from you in the future?
Melvin Fromm: Well getting ready very soon to work with some new studio musicians to make a lot of new music styles to submit to the background music company I working with in Asia to see what they will pick up and add to my total so far of 229 songs. Their worldwide market is really growing and they always want music from me to review as I will be adding new sounding music with the new studio musicians and see what happens as the rest is in God’s hands.
MuzicNotez: Anything else you wish to say about yourself or your music? Any message for your fans?
Melvin Fromm: I really want to thank eveyone that has given me a chance and helped my along with my music because when I first started out in music I knew nothing about it but all the great people that has taken me under their wing to help me and teach me really has been great and a huge help and I will never forget that. Thank you to all the great fans out thier that has enjoyed my music and want to hear more as I’m so glad I can touch your life in some way as I will do my best to keep going.
